World Post Day 2010 (9th October)


HISTORY OF WORLD POSTAL DAY

On 9th October, the World Post Day is celebrated to mark anniversary of establishment of Universal Postal Union. It is the foremost forum for the cooperation among the postal services and the helps for ensuring a really worldwide network of the latest services and products. South Africa is the member of the Universal Postal Union.

South Africa is gearing for 24th Universal Postal Union Congress that takes place in Nairobi in Kenya from August 13 to September 3rd 2008. It was decided that Kenya will host the status at 23rd congress which was organized in the Romania in Bucharest in the year 2004. It was said that the Kenya will be the venue whereas Africa will take pride for hosting key forum for 2nd time in the entire continent. Egypt was the last African nation which hosts the Universal Postal Union Congress in the year 1934.

The UPU was established in the Berne on 9th October, 1874. The main objective of union was to maintain and create the structure for open flows of the worldwide mail around world. In many of the global countries and organizations, the ministers or the high ranking officials issue the proclamations or make their speech on achievements or the history of the international or national postal services. The postal services may issue the unique postal stamps to commemorate the history, achievements or the ideals of national postal service on the World Post Day. All these are respected by the philatelists and stamp collectors. Further to it, unusual education on these topics can be prepared for school children and postal services. Also the employees can receive the extra training or the attention and recognition in media. 

The UPU in the cooperation with the UNESCO for last 35 years organized the global competition of the letter-writing for the young people. Most of the participating postal services use this special day to award the prizes to competition winners. World Post Day is not the public holiday therefore public is entirely not affected by it. 

From earlier times, the postal services are existed in form of messengers that traveled huge distances on horseback or foot. In the year 1600s and 1700s, the large number of the countries placed up the system of the national postage and also entered in two- sided agreements for exchange of mails among countries. By the end of the year 1800, there was the huge web of the two- sided agreement which made distribution of the global mail complicated, inefficient and nontransparent.

WORLD POSTAL DAY CELEBRATED IN PAKISTAN

ISLAMABAD: The 137th "World Post Day" has been celebrated in the world including Pakistan on October 9 with benefiting manners.
The ministry had held a function at Postal Staff Collage, G-8/4 Islamabad to celebrate the World Post Day.Senior Postal Executives and heads of other departments had also participated in the ceremony.

Federal Minister for Postal Service Israr Ullah Zehri was the chief guest.

The following activities held including presentation of Universal Postal Union (UPU) documentary, reading out message of D.G. UPU presentations, songs by a group school children, acting play of selected song containing the theme of UPU written by Additional Director General (Operational) Fazli Sattar Khan.

The ministry also distributed aid packets among the flood affected postal employees in different parts of the country by representative from Turkish Embassy, Musical performance on Orchestra by Ustad Raees Ahmad Khan & group winding up speech by chief guest and also presentation of souvenirs to Turkish Ambassador and chief Guest by the chairman Abdul Hameed.

World Post Day is celebrated every year on October 9, to commemorate the anniversary of the establishment of UPU in 1874 in the Swiss Capital, Bern.

It was declared World Post Day by the UPU Congress held in Tokyo Japan in 1969. Since then, countries across the world use the occasion to introduce and promote new postal products and services.

World Animal Day today

ISLAMABAD: World Animal Day, which is celebrated each year on 4 October is being observed around the world including Pakistan.
On this day, animal life in all its forms is celebrated, and special events are planned on locations all over the globe. This date was originally chosen for World Animal Day because it is the feast day of Francis of Assisi, a nature lover and patron saint of animals and the environment.
World Animal Day was first launched in 1931 at a convention of ecologists to draw attention to the plight of endangered species. Its scope has since developed to encompass the animal kingdom in general.
The 4th October was chosen for the day because it is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.World Animal Day is intended as a day of celebration for anyone in the world who cares about animals. It is not restricted to any one nationality, creed, religion, political belief or ideology.So, the day is celebrated annually in many countries throughout the world.

Independence Day celebrate karny ka haq hamien tab hai jab hum dependent Na hon hum log aj se he independent ho skty hain. Hum 17 crore awam per person daily k agr Rs. 10 selab se effected logon k leya donate karien tu aek din main hum Pakistani log 170 crore collect kar skty hain aur 10 din main hum log 1700 crore collect kar skty hain . 
Pakistani population (170000000)*per day Rs.10 = 1700000000 (170 crore per day)
Per day collection (1700000000) * 10 days = 17000000000 (1700 crore within 10 days)

Why we blame Government?????

 Any previous Government Of Pakistan or Present Government is not serious about upcoming Pollution problem in Pakistan Karachi is one of the most polluted city in the world,its a question mark for the responsible people , even Government shows no concern with Population which is increasing with an emergent  rate in the country. Unemployment is increasing day by day.Education sector is surrounded by the ocean of problems, politics is a game of Fuddles,Military was always ready to rule the country,Super power are killing Muslims,we are in a condition of civil war.i agree all of these as mentioned are faults of ruler but are we doing any thing,we are corrupt ourselves.we are also eating this country.we always damage public properties..Think what the Nation is doing and we Always  blame Governments
